Donnie Darko (again)

Written by kevin

Just noticed I hadn’t posted for a while, so it’s good that I’ve got something to talk about.

Went to see Donnie Darko again last night with a couple of friends, the Picturehouse has it on for another week due to popular demand. It doesn’t make much more sense the second time around, see my previous entry for my thoughts then.

Don’t read on unless you’ve seen the film

There were a few things I noticed that I hadn’t before. There seems to be a lot of emphasis on people putting on and taking off glasses, they always seem to do it in a very deliberate way, with the camera zoomed in on their faces.

The first time I saw it I somehow thought that the guys in Grandma Death’s cellar were something to do with Gretchen’s stepfather, it makes a bit more sense now, although I’m still not sure what they were doing in the cellar.

I might have to buy the DVD now, or maybe that’s just a little too obsessive?
