“Soon, the 3.5-inch floppy disk will be nothing but a memory” I doubt many people care all that much, when was the last time you used one?
I always liked the robustness (but very low capacity) of 3 inch disks, as used by a variety of old 8-bit computers, like my Amstrad CPC6128.
This page needs more links. I keep forgetting about interesting things I’ve found before I get a chance to post them. Also, more of my favourite sites need to go in the links box on the right hand side.

As my broadband(ish) internet access is provided by NTL I was disappointed to read that they’re trying to introduce a daily usage limit. Kind of missing the point of always-on access aren’t they?
There are quite a few things I’ve been meaning to post about recently but I can’t be bothered. By the time I get round to it I no longer care enough to write anything.
I wonder if this site would be improved if I could just post things as they passed through my mind? For a start you would have had the benefit of a rant about lack of preparation for bad weather last Friday and some musings about National Geographic.

I made the changes mentioned in the last post to an old copy of the site files, then uploaded all the old stuff. This is currently being fixed and things will be back to normal shortly.
I’ve added a note at the top of my CV for the benefit of recruitment agencies out there. It’s not acceptable to phone me at work, that’s why I don’t publish my work phone number, if you do I won’t have anything more to do with you.
… was my first thought as I watched the news last night. The footage of Columbia breaking up took me right back to the day I watched Challenger explode.
I suppose the only consolation for the families of the seven astronauts is that they died doing something really amazing.
